
Over the last five years, the Rotary Club of Hall has developed a strong and thriving Vocational Awards and Scholarships program. Evolving from the ad-hoc recognition of Vocational Service Awards at regular club meetings, the Fourchefs Apprentice Chef Awards to the Building Apprentice Awards and the University of Canberra Scholarships.
The total value of Vocational Awards and Scholarships presented by the Rotary Club of Hall since commencement of these focused programs in 2010, exceeds $125,000 to date (2015).
Building Apprentice Awards
Each year a number of apprentice students are nominated by the Master Builders Group Training organisation for consideration of a Rotary Club of Hall Building Apprentice Award. Final decision on awards is made by a Club committee that interviews each applicant.
The club are looking for applicants who demonstrate excellent vision for their future goals in the building industry or whom can impress the judges with an excellent standard of professionalism and enthusiasm for their chosen career with a desire to continue learning beyond their apprenticeship.

Apprentice Chef Awards
The Rotary Club of Hall’s Apprentice Chef Awards are highly sought after with three awards on offer for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentices. Winners receive a trip to work in a leading restaurant somewhere in the world, a substantial cookbook, high quality knife and spending money whilst away.
Selection for these awards are held by a panel made up of Canberra Institute of Technology trainers and Rotary Club of Hall members.

University of Canberra Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Hall University of Canberra Scholarship awardees are selected at the beginning of the university year and scholarships are awarded over a three year study period.
The University of Canberra have a selection process from which the Club’s Scholarship Committee interview the finalists. Funds are allocated for two scholarships however, this year (2015) the Board approved the awarding of three scholarships of $5,000pa.
