Some years ago the Veterans’ Support Centre approached the Club seeking assistance for a new Food Van. The group use their van as a fundraiser at local events to support their mission of providing veterans, current and ex-Defence members and their families with a range of support services.

These services include help in gaining fair compensation for war-caused disabilities affecting the veteran, spouses, and their children. These days, the organisation also supports Emergency Service personnel.

Following the receipt of a suitable business case, the Rotary Club of Hall agreed to support the construction of a food van.

They manufactured the van in late 2020 and on 8 December the Veterans’ Support Centre brought their new Van for a viewing at our Club meeting at Gold Creek Station where President Vicki presented Ward Gainey, President VSC, with a cheque for $20,000.

Commander Ward Gainey (Retd) of the Vietnam Veterans Support Centre was both extremely grateful and excited at the donation.

The club is proud to support the Food Van project because it enables the VSC to further extend its support in the community.
