The Rotary Club of Hall established the Capital Region Farmers’ Market (CRFM) in Canberra in 2003. It has been extremely well supported by the Canberra community and many dedicated stallholders producing an extensive range of regional produce.
To acknowledge the tremendous support of our regional producers and stallholders, the Rotary Club of Hall has maintained a policy of returning funds to districts from where our stallholders are drawn.
The Rotary Club of Hall has helped fund hospital facilities in Grenfell, Young and Batlow. The Club has helped with the lighting of youth sports’ oval in Crookwell. The Club has built a Rotary mobile multi-media trailer for the Rotary Club of West Wyalong’s community support in its district. The Club has supported a disabled wheelchair basketball team in Northern Victoria.
The Rotary Club of Hall will continue to reach out to the many primary and secondary production areas that service the CRFM through ‘sister’ Rotary Clubs co-located in these areas by way of investing collaboratively through them into local community projects.
In continuing with this policy, on Saturday morning 23 July, at our CRFM, President Yvonne Robson presented a cheque for $8,000 to President Steve Jackson, (left above) Rotary Club of Orange North to assist with their major contribution to Cancer Clinical Trials at the Orange Health Service Centre.
