January is always a busy one for the Rotary Club of Hall with the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) and the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) both on while schools are on holiday.

Above: The RYLA dinner was well attended by Rotary Club of Hall club members.

This year, the Rotary Club of Hall sponsored five students to RYLA, including our Japanese Youth Exchange Student, Monami. RYLA is a one-week, live-in, leadership training course.

NYSF rest day
National Youth Science Forum rest day. On the Sunday at the end of the first week of science, students visit Rotarians for the day to do their washing and relax. The students are so exhausted that it is very rare if they don’t all fall asleep by around 11am.

We also managed to get three students accepted into the NYSF program. This two week live-in science program only accepts the best of the best young science students from around the country.
