Our guest speaker on Tuesday 29 March was Dave Burnet, Manager of OzHarvest in Canberra.
Dave gave us a very interesting talk on his experience over the last seven years working with OzHarvest in the ACT, wherein the organisation collect 23,000 kilograms of left over food each month to distribute to the needy in the community.
Supermarkets, restaurants and clubs donate food that is getting close to expiry and perishables, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. None of this food is wasted.
