Dr Dan with recently qualified Timorese doctors.

‘On Sunday afternoon, Dr Dan ran the first of his TB and Rheumatic Heart disease seminars for young, recently qualified Timorese Doctors. This was made possible by Rotary Global Grant and the combined efforts of Rotary Club of Oak Bay and Rotary Club of Hall,’ stated Fiona Oakes, the Clinic Manager of Bairo Pite Clinic.

At the end of the workshop there was a test, and those who scored 80% and above were given a stethoscope and a blood pressure cuff.

All 35 of this group passed with flying colours and received their stethoscope and blood pressure cuff.

Dr Dan reported it was a lively session and lots of questions from a very interested and highly motivated group.

The Police National Timore Leste allowed free use of their very comfortable lecture theatre and police and military doctors will also join the next sessions. Dr Dan expects to run these workshops once a month reported Fiona Oakes.
