One of the fabulous things about the Rotary Youth Exchange is the trememdous variety of experiences available through Rotary members.
Today, our Japanese Exchange Student, Monami, was invited by President Rob (Chilly)Chilman of the Rotary Club of Jerrabomberra, to experience her first Rugby match.
Chilly is a passionate supporter of the local team, the Brumbies and as they were scheduled to play a Japanese team, he felt it would be good introduction to the sport for Monami.
The stage was set. Monami arrived with President Janine of RC Hall and was met by President Chilly who had arranged seats in the corporate box at Bruce Stadium.
President Chily and Monami with her new Brumbies jersey
To get Monami in the right spirit, Pres. Chilly had bought our Youth Exchange guest a Brumbies supporters jersey.
Monami would have been happy to see the Japanese team win, but she is in Australia now and wearing a Brumbies jersey… so the 50-0 win to the Brumbies was easier to swallow.
