Bulletin No 3/17-18 (23-7-2017)

Hi reader,

Another jam packed week... Never a dull moment for the Rotary Club of Hall.

See you on Tuesday - ED

Market Roster

The Capital Region Farmers Market Roster.

I have yet to update  the roster on the club calendar so best to look at the spreadsheet that was mailed to members. Hopefully I'll get around to sorting out the calendar soon!

Weekly Reports

From the desk of President Yvonne:

How good was the attendance last week? Was it the talk on craft beer that attracted so many on a cold winters night or catching up with Mick Shadwick?

DG Steve Hills asked that clubs be notified of the sudden passing of Rotary International (RI) President Elect  Sam F Owori who died from post-operative complications. Further details will be issued about the way ahead for RI but at this time RI is establishing a memorial fund in Sam's honour. Deepest sympathies are extended to Sam's family and to all his shocked Rotary family world wide.

Social News

Tickets are still available for the Rotaract Changeover Winter Ball on 11 August at the University of Canberra. Tickets are $50.00 per head and may be purchased on-line through the Rotaract website.  Paul Tyrrell, David Rendell and I are attending…a rose between two fabulous Rotarians.

CRFM Report

Our new Market Manager Karen has started and so far so good. John requests that all club members make themselves known to her at the markets.

Last Week

Last week we all heard about craft beer from long time Hall resident Shawn O'Connor who now runs Hops and Vine in the old cinema in Hall. We also heard a little about the Hall Axmen's Club - Shawn's other passion.

The Rotary Club of Hall were invited to have a meeting (combined with craft beer tasting) at Hops and Vine at a date yet to be set. H&V also sell local Canberra wines.

The idea seemed gain group consensus.
