Bulletin No 4/15-16 (29 July 2015)

Hi reader,

Tuesday's meeting was very boisterous and ended in a sterling rendition of Advance Australia Fair (inspired by Bill W) that raised the roof and would have sent the Rugby Choir back to the change rooms. A total change from the lackluster effort of the previous week. To marks Bill.

Weekly Reports

President: Graeme

In the absence of Graeme, Vice President Bernie got proceedings underway in a manner that set the tone for the evening. John had us all sit down for the International toast which was to the Rotary Club of Bled in Slovenia.

With only 16 in attendance, (including two guests) this was our smallest club meeting since moving to Versatile. Bernie said that a bunch of things will be decided at the upcoming Board meeting, including finalising members for committees.

He also reiterated that Rotarians should contact Tony Tucker regarding the rotational dinners and the progressive dinners. Could all those interested in participating please notify Tony asap?

Janine upheld tradition with a number of things to report.

• Candidate Kaliopi Notaras was accepted as a District NYSF candidate for NYSF in January 2016.

• RYPEN is being held Sept 11-13 at Mogo. Applications close 4th September.

• RYLA disrict meeting on Sunday 2nd August.

• Host family get together on Saturday night for Gerardas to meet them all and vice versa.

• We were advised that the Rotaract Club of UC, of which Hall is the sponsoring Rotary Club, is having their changeover on Friday 14 August at 7pm in the Catchpole Room of Southern Cross Club Jamison. It would be great to have a few Hall Rotarians can attend.

• The theme for this event is Black and White! So come dressed in your best Black and White cocktail gear and prepare yourself for a fun night of socialising and celebrating with RCUC and the wider Rotaract and Rotary community. Finger food will be provided and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Tickets are $30 and are available from http://www.trybooking.com/146855.

Gerardas then got up and gave his report - 'Nothing to report' - For which he was both reprimanded and cheered for his quick take-up. After a moment of laughing and cheering he reported that he had been to school - more cheering.

CRFM: Clive B

In the absence of Clive, Tony Howard reported that:

• Last week there were 106 stallholders and 160 stalls occupied.

• There is a new stallholder we should all check out who does smoked meats.
