Waiting for results of the committee matrix before decisions can be made on projects to support.
Youth & Vocational: Janine
Janine introduced our new Youth Exchange student, Gerardas who has been battling with a cold since he arrived last Friday. Gerardas came to the meeting after his first day of school (which he found slow and boring) wearing a crisp, clean Rotary jacket that is yet to gain any bling!
• It has been a long standing practice of the District NYSF committee to hold an orientation night about a month after the selections for NYSF. It is mandatory that the selected students attend an orientation. For many years the ACT Government has adopted the view that as the 6 States provide a reception at Government House, it was appropriate for ACT Government to offer funding as an alternative. The board has approved provision of $1,000 to support the orientation dinner for District NYSF this year.
• We were advised that the Rotaract Club of UC, of which Hall is the sponsoring Rotary Club, is having their changeover on Friday 14 August. As per last year, it would be great to have a few Hall Rotarians can attend.
• At the time of writing, only Paul, Chris and Janine have indicated that they will be attending. If you can attend, please 'like' Rotoract CUC on Facebook and click 'Going' on the RCUC changeover announcement.
CRFM: Clive B
We welcomed Clive back from his hospital bed and were treated to a short report:
• Numbers are down but in-keeping with seasonal expectations.
• The CRFM committee is embarking on a wholistic review of the market and marketplace.
