Bulletin No 12/16-17 (16-10-2016)

Hi reader,

Thus far I've had no applications to give me a hand with the Bulletin– at this rate we may just have to tap someone on the shoulder!

It is only six weeks until I'm away for two months. Step up my protege - step up.

See you all on Tuesday  - ED

Weekly Reports

Presidents Report

At last Monday’s Board Meeting I advised that is had over-committed myself and was stepping down from the role as counselor for Marta, Bill W and Yvonne with tale on this role. I will also cut back on my visits to the market and this year is my last year of RYLA.

Roger presented at breakdown of expenditure for the first quarter and a list of forward commitments for Community Services together with a full list of proposals they had received.

John K and I will continue on the finalisation of paperwork for Friends of Rotary.

We are awaiting a couple of documents from Macquarie on the investments to allow Hardwickes to complete the audit of the financial statements (Liz has now provided these documents and I have received a draft set of statements - Thanks Liz).

The AGM has been locked in for 15 November.

The Board is considering some legal advise provided by District in regard to our Constitution - carried over to next meeting.

Discussion continued on the visioning exercises and draft governance documents distributed to all Board members - Board to meet again separately on this issue.

Cheers
Paul

Club Service

Reminder to check out The Club Calendar all upcoming event information should be here!

NB: Your timely RSVP by 6:00pm Sunday is appreciated. Responses after this time cause all organisers logistical difficulties and as such you may be unable to attend.

Reminder - We have a club assembly bored in for this coming Tuesday. To date the only item up for discussion is a continuation of discussions around the feedback from the visioning exercise completed recently with Sunny Forsythe.

No Reports:

No reports were submitted to the Bulletin Editor again this week. But as I write this there is a Board meeting in progress so next week there may be a fair bit to report.

Community Service

The club continues to turn up to support the Fraser Primary School.

After the ACT Election Day BBQ, the club recieved a letter from Alios Tusch, President of the school P&C, thanking the club for our support.

'With your assistance we raised over $1800 which can now be used to enhance the educational experience for students at Fraser Primary School.'

(The photo of Vic cooking sausages was enhanced by cooking bacon and eggs prior to the shoot. The spray of fat on my phone created the romantic effect)

Last Week was a big one for Mental Health

Fellowship and an entertaining Sergeant Session (thanks Ken)

Last Tuesday everyone was fined and had a great time in the process.

Chris and Janine attended the annual Australian Rotary Health Race Day Hawksbury. The event was attended by a large crowd and annually raises between $25k to $30k on the day.

One of the ways the event raises funds for Australian Rotary Health is through a silent auction. Janine was fined for her exuberant bidding technique on Gai Waterhouse's hand me down fascinatior.
