Bulletin No 04/16-17 (1-8 2016)

Hi reader,

Another busy week and July is already over!

The big news for us was the arrival of our newest exchange student and of course the club's first trial of dinner in the club room.

No Directors sent reports through for inclusion in the Bulletin this week so unfortunately this issue may appear too have too many things that I was involved with.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday. - ED

Martta arrives in Canberra

Welcome Martta

No sooner had we said goodbye to our 2015-16 Youth Exchange Student, Gerardas Merliūnas from Norway, than we picked up our newest Youth Exchange Student from Finland, Martta Arstilla.

Weekly Reports

Presidents Report

President Paul was absent and there were a number of sick folks absent, so the meeting was run by ex President John.

Club Service

Reminder to check out The Club Calendar all upcoming event information should be here!

NB: Your timely RSVP by 6:00pm Sunday is appreciated. Responses after this time cause all organisers logistical difficulties and as such you may be unable to attend.

Last Tuesday we tested the idea of having a club meeting in the club room with food catered. This Tuesday our meeting is at Versatile.

Our Finance Director was absent but we felt that, were she there, she would have said everything is fine but a reminder that membership fees are due and not everyone has paid.

Nothing much to report.

There were a number of announcements from our new Youth Director. Most significant was the announcement that the club will sponsor a team in this year's MUNA.

Nothing to report.

No one from the CRFM committee was in attendance so all club members agreed that if anyone had attended that their report would have said 'it was a good market but numbers are down but - this is typical for this time of year'.

This week we tested the possibility of having speakers present in the club room. Home grown speaker Chris and Hall regular, Graeme Kinraid talked about Australian Rotary Health.

Chris, in his role as Ambassador Australian Rotary Health, introduced us to the ARHsport Initiative that he is currently working on with Jerrabomberra RC.
