Our guest speaker last Tuesday, Chris Kimble, CEO of Snowy Hydro SouthCare Helicopter, made the first mark on our new Club Guest Book.

The idea is that all visitors will be asked to sign the guest book at the end of the evening.

Weekly Reports

In President Graeme's absence VP Bernie conducted proceedings in his usual manner. Bernie had nothing to report other than to introduce us to the above-mentioned Guest Book,

Secretary/President Elect: Cynthia

Cynthia reported on correspondence, namely:

• Rutherglen Rotary Club presents Tour de Rutherglen, in which attendees ride pushbikes around and drink wine. This received a round of applause until John pointed out that there are more wineries around Canberra than there are in Rutherglen. For anyone interested, it is on the 24th October - details at http://tourderutherglen.org

• The Hall Museum is having a car boot sale. $10 per table. 7:30am set up for an 8am start - also on the 24th October.

• Also there is a Party at the Hall Shops Friday 30th October.

John reported that the Community Committee had made grants of

• $5000 to the Hall Volunteer Bushfire Brigade to assist in completion of their training facility and Fire Shed,

• $1500 to the ACT Jewish Welfare Fund to help with housing relocation for person requiring specialised housing needs during a recovery period from serious disability and

Youth & Vocational: Janine

Janine had a quiet week as far as the club is concerned (but a busy one for RYLA). She announced that her boy James found out he will be outbound to Hamburg next year.

Gerardas had a lazy holiday reading and watching TV. He went to Vic's place on the weekend, visited the National Museum and Floriade where he volunteered to help with the Rotary Garden Gnomes. He and two other students painted a gnome to look like John Britton.

CRFM: Clive

Clive reported that the market is down 12% which is the same as the last two years for this time of year.

At the conclusion of our guest speaker's talk, an announcement was made that SouthCare are planning on holding their Annual Gala Fundraiser at EPIC in our shed with local producers supplying a 'paddock to plate' experience. The event is earmarked for 4th December. More details will be forthcoming.
