Bulletin No 9/15-16 (2 September 2015)

Hi reader,

I was at Yass so missed Tuesday's meeting, so this Bulletin has been compiled from snippets supplied by a number of members plus a bit of Googling I did to find some images. Many thanks to all those who contributed.

Happy reading - Ed

Market Roster

(From Paul's roster - not sure about currency)

5 September - Paul, Graeme, Dennis, Peter
12 September - Bill, Tony T, Rob, Vic
19 September - Roger, Barbara, Kings, Tony H

Orchestra Performance at CRFM last Saturday.

I'm making this article up as all I have to go on is an email trail requesting to perform at the market last Saturday, however don't let that deter you from a good story...

Last Saturday the Northern Sydney Symphonic Wind Ensemble (NSSWE) performed at the CRFM. Unfortunately no photos were taken (for an article on our website) nonetheless, kindly volunteers (or Adrienne) set up chairs in the 'performance area' of the shed and 17 city kids from years 7 & 8 filled the shed with glorious music for around 30-40 minutes. After which, they wandered around seeking inspiration in the wonderful ambiance of a genuine fresh food market.

Great idea. This is the sort of stuff that makes the market fun - ED

Keith Hodgins was inducted

Congrats and welcome to the club.

Weekly Reports

President: Graeme

First, great to see Fiona at her 5th meeting and the opportunity to hear her speak. I am looking forward to seeing her nomination presented to the Board for consideration.

Gerardas has arrived at our home in Turner and has made himself at home! Tonight he, Chris, Janine and Suzanne are in Yass where he will give his introductory talk.

Tonight was a great opportunity to receive feedback on the Pulse Survey.  Again my thanks to past President Tony for all the work that has gone into this project. Tonight's discussion will be followed up with some 'visioning' next week - in particular seeking views from Club members on what our club might look like in 10 or 20 years - and the steps we need to put in place to get there.

My congratulations to Keith who was formally inducted into the Club - albeit the badge forwarded was for honorary membership.... Definitely worth the fine!!

I have been unable to contact one nominee for the invest analysis sub-committee. I anticipate this will be achieved in the next few days.

Bairo Pite remains on hold until I get some feedback from RAWCS on strategic lift and importation. Again, I expect to get this advice in the next couple of days.

Finally, if anyone would like to provide further feedback on any aspects of the Pulse Survey, they can do so at Graeme.rotary@gmail.com
